Rumours Rife On MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi Quitting Assam Congress

In a major breakthrough, rumours swept in the political circles on Thursday that three time Mariani MLA and senior Congress leader Rupjyoti Kurmi is on the verge of resigning from the party.

As per sources, the MLA is on his way to Guwahati to meet Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and members of the saffron party on Friday.

Initial reports have said the MLA is in correspondence with MLA Topon Gogoi and Pijush Hazarika in this connection.

Rupjyoti Kurmi has been winning the Mariani seat for three consecutive terms starting 2006.
