Ranjeet Dass Confident of Winning 9 out of 10 LS Seats

Pratidin Bureau

Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Friday said that his party has gained massive support from the people of Assam and claimed that BJP will win 9 out of the 10 Lok Sabha seats that went to polls in the first two phases of elections.

Addressing the media, Dass said, "We are sure of winning nine out of the ten seats. However, we are not sure with one seat."

Attacking the Congress, the State BJP chief said, "Congress will not be a factor in Barpeta. The fight will be in between our alliance partner AGP and Badruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF." He further added "The people of Dhurbi have decided to vote out Badruddin Ajmal and AGP candidate Javed Islam will be the winner from the seat."

He also alleged the Congress and AIUDF of a secret understanding for the Lok Sabha Elections saying, "The secret understanding between Congress and AIUDF has already come to light and the parties are both sides of a same coin."

Meanwhile, he refrained from commenting on the complaint by RSS-linked group against four journalists of Assam.
