Ranjan Gogoi to return home on Nov 20

Just retired Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi will returnhome on November 20 after an eventful stint at the helm of the affairs of theChief Justice of India.

According to information available from his friends, he will need 48 hours to wind up his personal belongings from this official residence of the CJI and will return to Guwahati on November 20.

Mr Gogoi had a built a house, his first, near the Hatigarh Chariali Police Station where he is going to spend the rest of his life with his wife.

He is the first Chief Justice of India from North East Indiaand regarded as a no-nonsense, bold and courageous man.

The protocol committee of the Gauhati High Court had provided him a car, a peon and a clerk for rest of his life as a mark of respect.
