‘Rajivraj’ in DIPR, why is govt silent?

Pratidin Bureau

The promise of uprooting corruption from the state of Assam that the Sarbananda Sonowal led government had come into power is seemingly fading away and all the type of 'Raj' are making its way back in.

The honest and sincere employees of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) are fed up with stubbornness and wrong implementation of power by the department's one of the Official with special responsibility, Rajiv Prakash Baruah.

It has been alleged that there had been massive amount of corruption involved in the department. It may be noted that Baruah's name has also emerged in the DIPR Appointment Scam.

There has also been allegations against Baruah of illegally implementing DIPR's schemes and practising 'Rajivraj'.

It may be noted that although the department's five senior officials have expressed severe allegations against Baruah, still no action has been taken against him till date.
