The Congress party on back foot after SC clean chit on Rafale deal while BJP has staged protest against Congress for making false allegations against PM Modi and questioning his credibility.

As a part of the protest, Assam BJP leaders along with saffron supporters will stage a massive protest rally in front of Rajiv Bhawan today (Dec 19).

The protest rally will be started from Gopal Boro high school playground at 11 am.

On the other hand, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee will stage a dharna in front of the Rajiv Bhawan against BJP.

Recently, the apex Court said that it found nothing wrong with a deal the Narendra Modi government signed with France to purchase 36 Rafale fighter jets.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said that it had studied the matter "extensively" and that it was "satisfied that there is no occasion to doubt the process [of signing the Rafale deal]."
