Radio for Corona Patients

Pratidin Bureau

Assam Government in a bizarre decision has decided to buy a radio each for every Corona patient.

Once this bizarre was flagged off by the Pratidin Time last night over its Prime Time show, the Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma quickly sought to deny the information saying that it was not true as the NHM officials have arranged some radio for the patients.

However, the record says a different story. In a signed decision, the core team of Assam COVID-19 led by Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Principal Secretary decided that radio should be given for each patient.
Both Dr. Sharma and Mr. Samir Sinha had signed that also and the copy of the same has been attached herewith.

But Dr. Sharma sought to dispel it and said that it was 'gossip' as no such radios were bought. But he forgot that the decision was taken by him himself on July 2.

Meanwhile, in regard of the Hand Sanitizers also he said hand sanitizers worth Rs 84 lakh had been bought not the figure as alleged by the Anti Corruption youth Forum. The forum alleged that hand sanitizer was bought at a higher prices from a particular farm. But Dr. Sarma through a tweet said that it was not true.
