Rabha students’ body protest against ASCRDA

The Bordua Regional Rabha Students Union along with All Assam Students Union (AASU) and several other organisations  staged a two hour protest against the proposal to include the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) areas in the new Assam State Capital Region Development Authority (ASCRDA) Act 2018, in front of  Palashbari Revenue Circle Office on Friday.

Thousands of people from RHAC and Tribal Belts and Block areas demanded to withdraw the law and submitted a memorandum to CM Sonowal through Palashbari Revenue Circle Officer.The protesters also threatened of more intense protest and not participating in the upcoming elections is the law is not withdrawn.

The protesters chanted various slogans against the BJP ruled government and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

It is to be mentioned that The  Rabha Students Union on 7th October 2017 submitted a memorandum to the government against the inclusion of RHAC areas under GMDA but it was later transformed into a law after a bill was passed by the State  government.
