PS Golay takes oath as new Sikkim CM

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) chief Prem Singh Tamang,popularly known as Prem Singh Golay has beensworn in as the new Chief Minister of the state today.

Governor Ganga Prasad administered his oath of office and secrecy and his cabinet colleagues at Palzor Stadium in Gangtok.

Thousands of SKM supporters and worker were present at the swearing-in ceremony. However, Former five-time Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling and senior Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) leaders were absent from the event.

The SKM, which was founded in 2013, won a slender majority in the 32-member legislative assembly by bagging 17 seats against 15 won by Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF).
