Protest against PRC to Non-Arunachali citizens

Pratidin Bureau

Violence has broken out in Arunachal capital Itanagar as the agitating protestors demanding roll back of the government decision of issuing Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) to Non Arunachali citizen took to the street sparing arson and loot.

According to the reports, there are several incidents of arson and protestors are trying to break into the state secretariat as the students are very angry over the government decision.

This is noteworthy that the agitators have the political backing of the opposition as series of MLAs and political leaders from BJP are resigning in the past few weeks and joining Congress, making the Prem Khandu led Arunachal government fragile.
