A massive fire broke out in Rajgarh area in Guwahati city that gutted property worth several lakh in the wee hours of Thursday.

The fire broke out at a godown near Sainik Bhawan in Rajgarh area. Five fire tenders rushed to the spot immediately to douse the flames. Fire gutted property worth Rs 12 lakh.

Locals suspected that miscreants might have set the fire as there was no electricity connection in the godown.

No casualties have yet been reported and the situation is under control now.
