Prateek Hajela Works According To his Wish: Ranjit Dass

Ahead of the final NRC to be published on August 31 as per the instruction of the Supreme Court, conflict arise between the government, NRC authorities and opposition with different views and suggestions coming from each part.

Addressing a joint press conference by BJP President Ranjit Dass, Organization General Secretary Phanindranath Sarma, BJP Mla Shiladitya Dev, President of Minority Morcha Muktar Hussain Khan and Vice President Toufik Rahman said that if any names of Indian will be excluded from NRC, then there will be a loss of 12crore rupees.

BJP President Ranjit Dass said that the NRC authorities have kept awaythe state government in 2017 although the government has supported them inpublishing the NRC.

He further alleged that NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela has worked asper his wish. "Many organizations were silent at that time when it hasinterrupted the intervention of the government," said Dass.

He further asked as how will the government give a correct NRC allegingthat some organizations have now come up with their views and suggestions inorder to save Hajela.

The BJP President also claims that they will bring CitizenshipAmendment Bill in the Parliament and Assembly if the NRC will not be anerror-free NRC.

Dass also alleged that many officers appointed in NRC have included thename of foreigners' by submitting fake documents and that the NRC authorities haveaccepted many illegal documents.

The BJP said that they will help the genuine Indian citizens whose namewill be excluded from the NRC and urged them that they should keep faith in lawand that they should not panic if their names will not be published in the NRC.

On the other hand, President of All Assam Students' Union (AASU),Dipanka Nath said that it is their desire to give an error-free NRC to thepeople of Assam. "A section of selfish people are speaking against NRC andPrateek Hajela. A long-pending movement of AASU for NRC is now going to fulfillthe dreams of the organization," said Nath.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi criticizes BJP MLA ShiladityaDev for his comment on NRC. Bordoloi said that the BJP and RSS don't want theNRC to be published. "BJP don't want to keep peace and harmony in the state. Theyhave divided the society into two categories- Hindu and Muslim," said Bordoloi.
