People start leaving Arunachal

Pratidin Bureau

As Itanagar and Naharlagun continued to burn even on Monday, non-tribal as well as non-Arunachali people living in both the towns started leaving the State.

Reportedly, people walked 18 km to 20 km from the mountainous State and arrived in neighbouring Banderdewa town in Assam. "We have left Arunachal for now due to lack of security and food," told a non-tribal person, who walked from Naharlagun to Banderdewa.

Meanwhile, continuing violent protest, the protesters on Monday vandalized a residence of Deputy CM Chowna Mein near Banderdewa. They were seen pelting stones at the residence of Chowna Mein.
