Over 300 tourist spots to be developed in Assam

To attract tourists from across the globe, the Assam government has taken steps to develop 316 tourists' spots in the State. Managing Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), Bhaskar Phukan, has informed about the decision.

Phukan,while talking to All India Radio, said that under Axom Darshan programme ofAssam government, Rs. 150 crore will be spent to develop these tourists' spots.

Healso said that stress has been given to generate employment opportunities inthe tourism sector in Assam. Phukan also said that trainings are also beinggiven to those who are involved with the sector for skill development.

TheMD of ATDC further said that Assam government will utilise the mightyBrahmaputra to develop the river tourism sector.
