Onion price unlikely to decrease till Dec 1st week: Phani Bhusan

Pratidin Bureau

The price of onion in Assam is likely to go on increasing till the first week of December. Phani Bhusan Choudhury, the Food & Civil Supply minister of Assam, has once again made an irresponsible comment on the uncontrolled price rise of the essential commodity.

The AGP minister on Friday said, "Assam is a consumer State of onion and the prices of onion have been on the rise in the states that produce onion," adding, "Which is why the prices of onion are likely to decrease only after the first week of December."

It maybe mentioned here that Congress MLAs on Friday staged protest against the pricerise of onion and turned up at the Assembly wearing garlands of onions.
