One more detained in Deben Dutta killing case

TheJorhat Police have detained one more in connection with the sensational killingof Dr Deben Dutta at the Teok Tea Estate. The detainee has been identified asRinku Bagchi. The Police have arrested 40 accused in connection with theincident including a former All Assam Tea Students' Association (AATSA) leaderManoj Manjhi.

Meanwhile,the Assam government has decided for fast track court to try the case involvingthe killing of Dr Dutta. The decision came after a team of Indian MedicalAssociation (IMA) visited the house of late Dutta on Wednesday and demanded theCM to make his stand clear on the issue.

Onthe other hand, an inquiry into the incident has been intituted by thegovernment and asked Commissioner and Secretary Finance Shayam Jagannathan toinquire into the killing of the doctor.
