Pratidin Bureau

In a major development on Tuesday, Assam CID arrested one of the main accused in the shocking Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) question paper leakage case.

The investigating CID team today apprehended one named Akram Hussain from Kamrup district's Boko area in connection with the P&RD question paper leak scam that shook the state and was subject to major criticism from across Assam.

Hussain has been accused of leaking the question paper a day before the exam on WhatsApp.

The question paper went viral within hours and was uploaded on social media platforms criticizing the P&RD department and their inability to protect such important documents a day before the exam.

The exam took place on May 20 this year and became a matter of real shame for the state as the case of leaked question paper was then shadowed by pics and videos of candidates using phones while writing their papers in the exam hall went viral.
