Noted Writer and IAS Officer Dr Rohini Kumar Barua Dies Of COVID-19

With the gloomy sky welcoming a new day, Assam lost another noble leader cum litterateur.

Dr Rohini Kumar Barua, a famous writer, loved and honored IAS officer from Assam lost his life to COVID-19 on Tuesday night.

Dr Barua has made huge contribution towards the welfare of Assamese society with his service as an IAS officer. He was also a prolific writer and has many books to his name.

Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma expresses his grief towards the family and condolence on the death of the noted writer. The CM offers his prayers for the writer's soul to rest in peace.

As per the latest COVID update in Assam, the state recorded a total of 4,42,694 positive cases, 49, 158 active cases, 3,88,451 discharged and 3,738 deaths.
The recovery rate in the state stood at 87.75 per cent with 43 new deaths.
