No more liquor bribes, Kamrup DC warns parties

Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (M) Biswajit Pegu has issued strict guidelines for the Loksabha elections to be held on April 23.

"Proper discipline while conducting elections should be maintained and the code of conduct is to be strictly monitored," he said. For the first time, the district administration to install 'Strong room' at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in the city.

Action will be taken against those, who try to influence voters by luring with 'Wine' and 'Cash'.

Explaining the security arrangement at strongroom, he said that as per the directions of the Election Commissions of India, guards from Central Armed Forces will be deployed outside the room, which will be monitored round-the-clock through surveillance cameras.
