Guwahati Police Begins Investigations into Nikita Agarwala Murder

A police team today conducted a search operation in her husband, Kaushik Khemka's flat at Christian Basti in Guwahati

Guwahati police has started investigations into the murder case of Nikita Agarwala Khemka, who died of burn injuries at the Nemcare Hospital in the city on February 5.

She was admitted to the hospital on February 4 with nearly 70 to 80 per cent burn injuries.

A police team today conducted a search operation in her husband, Kaushik Khemka's flat at Christian Basti in the city.

The team recovered a kerosene bottle and a matchbox from the bathroom duirng the search.

Meanwhile, Kaushik Khemka, who was present in the flat, was also interrogated by the police.

According to sources, the victim was allegedly tortured for a long time by her husband and his family for dowry.

Reports further claimed that Nikita’s relatives had lodged an FIR against her in-laws at the Dispur Police Station after her death.
