National Flag Half-Mast In Gandhi Mandap

As a three-day mourning period has been announced by the Assam government on the demise of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi, the third tallest flag in the country, which is in Guwahati's Gandhi Mandap, is seen flying half-mast.

Earlier yesterday, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had announced that the state government would observe three-day mourning in honour of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi.

Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi passed away on Monday evening at 5:34pm after a prolonged battle with illness and post COVID complications. He was the chief minister of Assam from 2001 to 2016, a six-time parliamentarian and Union minister twice.
