Pro-talk ULFA leader Mrinal Hazarika appeared in Panbazar Police Station on Sunday as the leader made provocative statements during a press meet organised by Khilonjia mancha on October 24.

Panbazar Police registered a case against the leader (No 728/2018) under sections 120 (b), 295 (a) and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A squad of Police interrogated Hazarika for around two and half an hour.

However, Police allowed him to go after investigation.

It may be mentioned in the press meet, Hazarika lashed out on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. He clearly said that "If Parliament passes this bill, we will have no choice but derail the peace process. We cannot go against the people of Assam for whom we have fought for years".

Threatening the Bengali organizations and BJP MLA Shiladitya Deb, Hazarika said, "I want to warn MLA Shiladitya Deb and the Bengali organizations, who have been working against the interest of Assamese community despite living in Assam should refrain from doing so in the future. If they don't, we have to create an environment like 1983′ if situation compels us."
