Mortal remains of martyr Basumatary to reach Guwahati today

Mortal remains of martyr Central reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Moneswar Basumatary's mortal remains will be brought to Guwahati on Saturday. After which, it will be sent to his native village at Kalbari in Baksa district.

Basumatary's mortal remains was earlier scheduled to be carried to Guwahati by an Indigo flight from Delhi, however as per recent reports the martyrs body would be bought to Guwahati in a special fight of the Indian Air Force from Delhi. The flight is likely to reach Guwahati by 10 AM. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced Rs. 20 lakh to the family of martyr Moneswar Basumatary.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his tribute to Pulwama martyrs at Palam airport in New Delhi on Friday evening. Later, the mortal remains of some CRPF jawans are being taken to their native places.
