Modi in Assam evokes protest across the State

Pratidin Bureau

Assam has been on the boil since Centre has passed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha last month. The protest against the much-debated CAB intensified after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the State on Friday evening.

Six youths have staged naked protest in front of Janata Bhawan in Dispur on Saturday. However, the city police later detained them.

Several organisations also staged protest across the State on Saturday in protest against PM Modi and his government for their move with the CAB. Members of AASU waved black flags at different parts of the State and burnt the effigies of PM Modi and CM Sonowal.

Notably, several organisations including AASU, KMSS and AJYCP have already waved black flags at the PM after he reached Guwahati last evening.
