Miscreants attacked a journalist in Nalbari

Rajen Deka, a journalist of Dainik Asam, one of the oldest daily Assamese newspaper was attacked with sharp weapons by unidentified miscreants at midnight of April 25th, 2019.

According to sources the incident took place when the reporter was returning home. The miscreants after the attack dropped the journalist on the side of the road.

According to police reports Rajen Deka was attacked from behind and as a result he got many injuries in the backside of head and hand. The reporter lost his senses after the attack by unidentified miscreants with sharp weapons. The victim was immediately taken to Mukalmuya Hospital but being the condition serious, he was shifted to Guwahati Medical College. Police's search operation is underway but till now no miscreants could be identified.

Barkhetri AASU, Nalbari Press Club, Nalbari Journalists' Association  and many other associations has condemned the incident. Rajen Deka is now undergoing treatment in GMC.
