Suspected ULFA(I) militants body recovered

A suspected ULFA(I) militants body have been recovered  from Tekeris Burhi Dihing river on Thursday. The body was recovered by the local fishermen. The body is suspected to be of a ULFA (I) militant as the corpse was full with battle fatigue along with a grenade fitted on his neck. The militant was supposedly killed in Jagun encounter along Assam-Arunachal inter-state boundary though the corpse has not been identified yet.

A joint team of the  Police and Army launched a search operation following reports that a 22-member team of hardcore ULFA-I rebels led by Rupam Asom and Jaan Asom had taken shelter in a house in Adarsha village in Lekhapani.

Following the encounter, the Army have launched massive operations in the area.
