LS Polls: Rs. 7.85 crore seized in Assam

The officials of the Assam Election Commission informed that cash worth Rs. 7.85 crore have been seized from across the State since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the Lok Sabha elections came into force. The Election Commission officials also informed that liquor worth several lakhs have also been seized since the MCC came into force.

According to the officials of Election Commission, cash worth Rs. 7,84,93,076 have been seized as of Saturday (April 6). As per the figures provided by the Election Commission officials, the authorities have seized liquor worth Rs. 7,18,243 from across the State so far (1,17,935.46 litres).

Polling in the 14 parliamentary constituencies in the State will be held on April 11, April 18 and April 23.
