LPG crisis may hit Assam

The North East Packed LPG Transporters Association is conducting an indefinite strike since this morning.

The association had ceased transportation of cylinders to the LPG agencies across the Northeast from Thursday in protest against the alleged alterations in the terms and conditions regarding the tendering process by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd authorities.

The Association also protested against the decision of shifting operations of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) head office from Guwahati to Kolkata.

A couple of days ago, discussions between the representatives of the association and IOCL authorities held however it was unable to make consensus after which the association decided to continue the agitation indefinitely.
