LGBI Airport conference Hall renamed after Bhupen Hazarika

The Airports Authority of India at Guwahati in a remarkable manner celebrated the 93rd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika by naming its conference Hall in his honour.

The conference Hall at Regional Headquarters North Easter Region, Guwahati was named as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Hall.

AAI, Regional Headquarters, Guwahati also named it's anotherconference hall in the honour of 'Kalaguru' Bishnu Prasad Rabha, which islocated adjacent to same office building. Bishnu Prasad is well remembered forhis contribution towards the Assamese Culture in the fields of music, dance,painting, literature etc.

Inaugurating the occasion with Assamese artist SadanandaGogoi, Sanjeev Jindal, Regional Executive Director-AAI said that it was need ofthe time that the day when Dr Bhupen Hazarika was conferred Bharat Ratna posthumously;we should also celebrate the occasion and what could be the best time otherthan his birth anniversary of the legend, to name our conference hall in hishonour, he said.

Ramesh Kumar, Airport Director, Guwahati, General Managersand HODs of AAI, Employee's Union members, Kalyaanmaye (AAI's women welfarewing) members, ATC, CNS, Engineering guild members were also present on thisoccasion.
