Lakhimpur’s Hindu family donates land for Muslim burial ground

In a society where the Hindu-Muslim binary is being playedup for political advantage a Hindu family in North Lakhimpur donated a piece ofland for a Muslim burial ground  showinggreat statementship as well as showcasing the great social harmony of Assam.

The family members of late Karunakanta Bhuyan of Garehagadonated a land measuring 1 bigha 2 katha and 19 lechas to Nahar PukhuriKabarstan near North Lakhimpur railway station on Sunday.

A meeting was organized by the governing body of Nahar PukhuriKabarstan Committee where family members of late Karunakanta Bhuyan werefelicitated. Chaired by retired professor Dr Hamidur Rahman, the meetfelicitated Jayanta Kumar Dutta, Dibakar Dutta, Anjan Kumar Bhuyan, Deba PratimDutta and Pranab Dutta.

It may be mentioned here that the Nahar Pukhuri Kabarstanshares its boundary with a Hindu crematorium ground.
