The localsof Guwahati's Uzanbazar and Panbazar area have alleged frequent power cut intheir localities since Wednesday afternoon.

Theresidents of both the area have said that the Assam Power Distribution CompanyLtd (APDCL) failed to restore power supply till midnight.

Thelocals said that as there was no natural cause such as heavy rainfall over thearea, there should not have been any power failure. They also complained thatdespite their several attempts, the APDCL authorities have not responded torequests.

Meanwhile,severe heat wave and frequent power cut at the same time have put the people indistress.
