KMSS, allies to meet Harish Rawat tonight

The KMSS,AJYCP-led 70 organisations are going to meet senior Congress leader-cum- Congress in-charge for Assam Harish Rawat on the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill issue at Hotel Gateway Grandeur in the city tonight.

KMSS chief Akhil Gogoi has informed that the delegation of 70 organisations will meet the congress leader to seek support against the Bill in Rajya Sabha. It may be mentioned that the 70 organisations had a discussion on Sunday night with regional party AGP in hotel Nandan in the city.

In a press conference, Akhil Gogoi has informed that they have decided to meet Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 soon.

"JD(U) delegation will visit Assam on January 28-29. There will be a demonstration by the 70 organisations and public on January 28-29 in front of Assam assembly. We have decided to postpone the road-train blockade programme on January 27 due to examination. However, the protest will be staged in Tinsukia district only."- Akhil added.
