Pratidin Bureau

The division of Kashmir reignited the Bodo nationalism once again as bifurcation of Assam has been demanded with one group demanding Union Territory and another group full statehood.

When Union Home Minister Amit Shah was piloting theparliamentary matters related to Article 370 and creation of two UnionTerritories, the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) jumped to its defence butdemanded that BTC should also be upgraded as Union Territory.

The BJP MP Biswajit Daimary forcefully asserted thatBodoland Territorial Council (BTC) should be upgraded as the Union Territory.

On the other hand on Tuesday the ABSU also joined the bandwagon as they addressed a press conference and upped the ante demanding separate Bodoland state.
