Kamrup MetroDeputy Commissioner Bishwajit Pegu visited the Pandu immersion ghat on Tuesdaymorning to inspect the ghats.

The DC visited the ghats with the officials of different departments and instructed the puja committees to immerse the idols within 11 pm so that no untoward incident could take place during the immersion process.

He alsourged the puja committees not to immerse the idols if possible saying that theidols cannot be lifted out from the water once it is immersed. Therefore, weurged the committees not to immerse the idols so that the water does not getpolluted.
