It is time to unite: Zubeen

Assam heartthrob Zubeen Garg on Wednesday said that it was his mistake to sing a song for the BJP during 2016 assembly election campaign. Taking part in a programme at Ahotguri under Morigaon district, Zubeen Garg said, "Sometimes I fell that it was my mistake to sing for BJP during the election campaign of 2016."

Zubeen has always been quite vocal of his stance against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and now he has declared a series of protests against the government. Speaking at Ahotguri, Zubeen also asked the people of Assam to unite. He said, "We should be all together against it."

On Wednesday itself, Zubeen visited AASU office in Guwahati and discussed the Bill with AASU adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya. Talking to media in Guwahati Zubeen said that he is composing in opposition to the CAB, which is likely to be released on January 22, at Kalaguru festival.

Zubeen will also observe 'Sankalpar Din' on the occasion of Shilpi Divas on Thursday (today) in Tezpur. Earlier, the singing superstar had penned an open letter to Assam Chief Minister Sonowal to expressed his opposition to the Bill. He had lashed out at Sonowal for supporting the controversial Bill.
