Himanta meets Conrad, new twist

Pratidin Bureau

Meghalaya Chief Minister and NPP leader Conrad Sangma and BJP leader Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma met last night at Radisson Blu Hotel along with the AGP President Atul Bora giving new twist to the state politics.

The NPP is supposed to contest at least half a dozen seats but that is now in jeopardy. Although the NPP is not expected to make any mark in the Lok Sabha poll but for the sake of perception, the BJP has some new politicking.

A scheduled press conference of Conrad Sangma was canceled without citing the reason. On the other hand, NPP state leadership are in confusion as their plan of contesting the Lok Sabha poll is not making any headway as the party is yet to make its position clear.

The Congress meanwhile terms NPP as the B-team of the BJP popped up by Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma. Meanwhile friction amongst the NPP leadership are very much visible in Assam for not getting a clear picture.
