Guwahati: Fire & Emergency Worker Tests COVID-19 +

An employee of Fire and Emergency Services, Guwahati was tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was engaged in sanitization in different areas of the city.

The employee alleged that they don't have the required numbers of PPE kit and that they go for sanitization without wearing any PPE kit as they have not been provided with the same. He said that they usually go for sanitization by wearing their regular uniform.

It may be mentioned that other than the common public, a large number of frontline workers are also infected with the virus.

Meanwhile, Assam registered 6056 cases of COVID-19 with 2282 active cases.

Notably, the Kamrup (M) witnessed large numbers of COVID-19 cases as a result of which the government has imposed a total lockdown in 11 wards under Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
