Guwahati: Elderly Couple Brutally Murdered in Beltola

A couple in Guwahati's Chandan Nagar area, survey in Beltola was allegedly murdered at their residence at night on early Tuesday.

According to sources, the elderly couple was said to be brutally murdered by the robbers who barged into their house at night.

As per reports, the victims are identified to be Noni Gopal Baruah (87) and Mina Baruah (76).

The preliminary investigation on the case reveals that the house was entered through a shattered window, and numerous items were stolen.

The bodies were laying in a pool of blood in the bed and it is said a sharp weapon was used to smack the couple in the head which caused the death of the duo.

The Caretaker on going to serve breakfast in the morning found that the window grill was not there.

The elderly couple is survived by two daughters who does not live in Guwahati.

Investigation on the case is currently underway.
