Guwahati blast | Jahnabi Saikia and Pranamoy Rajguru detained

The Assam Police on Thursday detained Jahnabi Saikia Das and 'self-proclaimed' pro-talk ULFA member Pranamoy Rajguru in connection with the blast near Guwahati Central shopping mall in Zoo Road on Wednesday evening.

Bothof them were detained following hours of interrogation by a team of Assampolice in Jahnabi's residence in Guwahati's Panjabari area. Police recovered a9MM pistol, 35 rounds of live bullets, 40kgs of explosive materials and ULFAflags from her house.

Jahnabihas been living in the house as a tenant from last 10 days. She hails fromAmulapatti area in Sivasagar district. The police have said that Jahnabi was ina close link with 'self-proclaimed' pro-talk ULFA member Pranamoy Rajguru. Pranamoyused to often visit her house. However, ULFA sources denied Pranamoy to beinvolved with their organisation and termed him as a 'fake-ULFA'.

Meanwhile, speaking to media after detention, Pranamoy said, "Our fight will continue. May our struggle long live. The government should know that these activities will continue." He also maintained that the woman is his relative.

On the other hand, Jahnabi refrained herself from answering any questions by the media.
