The official website of the prestigious Gauhati University (GU) has been hacked. According to reports, the website was hacked on Sunday morning.

The home page of thewebsite was redirected to a pornographic website. Users said that the home pageof the website showed a message, which read – Upcoming question papersleaked: QUESTION PAPERS. When the users clicked on the link, they weredirected to a pornographic website.

However, the universityauthorities are yet to make any comments regarding the issue. Sources said thatthe authorities are currently consulting the IT professionals.

It may be mentioned here that recently in a major goof-up, the GU authorities failed to print the question paper for 'Politics in India' – for the undergraduate third-semester examination of Political Science – following which the university had to reschedule the examination.
