Assam Govt handed over Rs. 20 lakh to Pulwama martyr

The government of Assam on Thursday handed over the sanction letter of Rs. 20 lakh to the family members of Moneswar Basumatary, who was martyred in the deadly terror attack on February 14 in Jammu & Kashmir's Pulwama. CM Sonowal had announced an ex gratia of Rs. 20 lakh for the family on February 15.

The sanction letter was handed over to martyr Basumatary's wife, his son and his daughter by Assam Minister Rihon Daimary, Chief Minister's media advisor Hrishikesh Goswami and others at their residence at Kalbari under Baksa district.

The terror attack by Masood Azhar led Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans including Assam son Moneswar Basumatary in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
