Govt decides for fast track court to try Deben Dutta case

Followingthe horrific incident that took place last Saturday at Teok Tea Estate, the AssamGovernment on Wednesday has decided for fast track court to try the caseinvolving the killing of Dr Deben Dutta.

The movecame after a team of Indian Medical Association (IMA) visited the house of lateDr Deben Dutta on Wednesday and demanded CM Sarbananda Sonowal to make hisstand clear on the issue within 24-hour.

On theother hand, CM Sonowal on Wednesday dialed the widow of slain doctor andexpressed his empathy with bereaved family members. Besides, condemning theincident, the CM said that strict action will be initiated against those whotook law in their hands.

Meanwhile,an inquiry into the incident has been instituted by the government and askedcommissioner and secretary finance Shyam Jagannathan to inquire into thekilling of the doctor.
