AssamGovernor Professor Jagdish Mukhi on Saturday inaugurated the install sanitarynapkin incinerators at the Gauhati University (GU) campus. The incinerators areinstalled at the GU girls' hotels.

The Governor also took part in a series of Swachhta initiatives at GU conducted by Guwahati refinery. He further inaugurated a plantation drive and handed over dustbins for use at the hostels of the University during the programme, which was organised at the Birinchi Kumar Baruah Auditorium at the University.

It maybe mentioned here that incinerator is a device used in waste treatmenttechnology and helps in instant disposal of used napkins in a scientific aswell as in a hygienic way.
