In another shocking incident, a girl student was allegedly molested by her tuition teacher at Hengrabari in Guwahati on the day of International Women's Day on Friday. The incident came to light after the parents of the student lodged an FIR at Dispur police station on Saturday.

The accused identified as Tapan Barman allegedly outraged the modesty of the minor girl and threatened her not to reveal the matter to anybody.

However, the victim gathered courage and narrated her ordeal to her parents, following which they filed a written complaint against the tutor with police.

Meanwhile, the accused tuition teacher is reportedly on the run after the complaint was lodged against him. A case has been registered in this regard and a probe is underway, the police said.
