Former DGP Khagen Sarma is no more

Former DGP of Assam police Khagen Sarma has died at the Sun valley Hospital at 7.15 pm on Friday evening.

Reportedly, Sarma was suffering from serious disease for a few months. He was admitted to a hospital in Delhi since 9th September and later on 19th October he was returned to Guwahati.

Reportedly, Sharma was the IPS of 1982 batch. Later he had joined as the DIG in Special Branch (SB) in 1997  till 2016. In August, Sarma joined as the Special Director General (DG) of the National Security Guard of Civil.

Moreover, in January 2014, he joined as the DGP of Assam Police and got retirement in 2015. Earlier he worked as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Karimganj, North Cachar and Jorhat. It may be stated that in his leadership Assam police got a special movement.

However, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today condoled the deathof former DGP Khagen Sarma.
