Fake news of Nipon’s death

Fakenews of prominent Assamese film actor Nipon Goswami's death has been doing therounds on social media. Several people and facebook pages have posted the newson Friday evening.

However,family members of Goswami rubbished the report and termed it as a hoax. "Pleasedisregard fake news by malicious websites and facebook pages regarding NiponGoswami's health and well being. He is safe in his house," said a family memberof Nipon Goswami, while speaking to Pratidin Time. "And please avoidsharing fake news," added the family member.

It may be mentioned here that Goswami was admitted at GNRC hospital at Six Mile on June 11 after he had slipped and fell on the wet bathroom floor. He suffered a leg injury.

Goswami, counted as one of the most prominent actors of Assam, acted in several Assamese films. He debuted in the Assamese film industry as a child artist in the movie Piyali Phukan, directed by Phani Sarma in 1957.
