Fake D.EL.ED Certificates, Minister to Take Action

Assam Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharyya on Monday said that many candidates have applied for Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) examination by submitting fake D.EL.ED certificates.

He said that strict action will be taken against those who have submitted fake certificates and will also take action against the institutions that have provided fake degrees. The head of the institutions will be sent to jail, said Bhattacharyya.

Theminister further stated that if they found any such institutions which haveprovided fake degrees, those institutions will be closed down.

Bhattacharyya added that the distance education of D.EL.ED was effective until 2017.

Theminister further said that the government will take action against those whohave submitted fake certificates of D.EL.ED to apply for TET.
