With reports of erosion coming in from various parts of Assam during these pre-monsoon rains and pertaining to which in an unfortunate incident a person had to lose his life at Burhi Dihing River.

Accordingto reports, the deceased identified as Duliajan Bamungaon's Biplab Das wasgoing to his workplace passing through the bank of the river when a block ofland mass fell into the river taking Das along with it.

Although onlookers rescue Das out of the water and take him to the Oil India Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Subsequently,registering a complaint at the Duliajan Police Station, the body was sent forpost mortem in Dibrugarh's AMCH.
