Elderly Couple Murder Case: Wife of Akash Choudhury Detained Again

In a recent development, Putu Das, wife of Akash Choudhury, the suspected murderer of the elderly couple Noni Gopal Baruah and Mina Baruah has been detained again by Dispur Police on Thursday morning.

Putu Das has been interrogated by police and is likely to be arrested today.

Meanwhile, police arrested Akash Choudhury, the caretaker of the elderly couple and he is under interrogation.

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also visited the residence of the elderly couple on Wednesday. He assured the guilty will be given strict punishment and the case will be resolved soon.

The Chief Minister also interacted with the family members of the deceased couple and said that most of the evidence has been collected and the investigation will be completed soon. He said that the law and order enforcement agencies are waiting for the forensic evidence and based on it interrogations and other procedures will follow.

The last rites of the couple will be performed today, said family members. Their bodies have been kept in the morgue of Down Town hospital. Noni Gopal Baruah and Mina Baruah's elder daughter who stays is London will arrive today.
