The CrimeBranch of Assam Police on Saturday morning seized huge amount of drugs valuedseveral lakhs. Based on a secret tip-off, a peddler has been caught red handedby the team of Crime Branch.

Identified as Hanif Ali, the peddler was apprehended from his rented house in Ramkrishna Nagar of Lalung-gaon area. Reportedly, police also seized cash worth Rs. 12,000 from him. Notably, Hanif worked as a fruit vendor.

"Follow up action is being initiated in this regard," informed a top police official. "Value of the contraband item seized will be several lakhs in black markets," added the official.
