In a jointoperation launched by Gorchuk Police and Crime Branch, huge amounts of banneddrugs have been seized from a rented room at Lalunggaon.

The drugs smuggling in the city continued unabated despite the coronavirus outbreak. The Gorchuk Police and Crime Branch launched the operation after receiving information from internal sources and seized large numbers of heroin and cash and arrested two women smugglers.

The arrestedwomen drug peddlers have been identified as Nurjahan Begum of Mukalmua and RiyaDas of Ganeshpara.

Police informed that Nurjahan was associated with drugs smuggling for long and that she supplied drugs to many youths from well to do family.
